Taounate (province)

Taounate ( Arabic إقليم تاونات) is a province in Morocco . It has belonged to the Fès-Meknes region since the administrative reform of 2015 and is located in the north of the country in the Rif Mountains , northeast of Fès . The province has 668,232 inhabitants (2004). The capital of the province is Taounate .

Until 2015, the Taounate Province was part of the Taza-Al Hoceïma-Taounate Region .
