Five friends and the valley of the dinosaurs is a German movie by director Mike Marzuk from 2018. After Five Friends from 2012, this was the fifth part of the series. Like the previous parts, it is based on the children's book series Five Friends by Enid Blyton , but does not follow any specific plot of the books she has published.

Aunt Fanny drives the five friends in the car to a cousin's wedding party. But already on the way to this, the adventure slowly begins with a car breakdown, because this circumstance forces you to stop in a small sleepy village. The next day, the Five Friends visit the local natural history museum, where the sensational bone find of a previously unknown species of dinosaur is presented. You will also meet a weird outsider from the small town named Marty Bach. The young man tells them about a valley in which his recently deceased father discovered a completely preserved dinosaur skeleton, but that no one would believe him. Shortly afterwards Marty accidentally destroys the frame of a photo at home and discovers the coordinates of the dinosaur valley behind it. But that night he was attacked and his father's code was stolen. With the police doing nothing, the matter is clear to the Five Friends: they have to help their new friend! Together they sign up for a guided hike to get closer to the valley. But the thieves have obviously also joined the group and want to reach the valley and the skeleton as well. The Five Friends do everything in their power to thwart this. In the end, the Five Friends succeed in rescuing the dinosaur skeleton and rescuing the reputation of their new friend and his father.

After the dog that originally portrayed Timmy had already been exchanged in Five Friends 3 , due to the growing up of the previous child actors after Five Friends 4 these had to be exchanged in the end. The shooting of the movie took place in the year 2017th It was released in German cinemas in mid-March 2018 and reached 531,306 viewers. In September 2018, there is also said to have been a limited theatrical release in Spain. The German DVD was released in October 2018.
