Ewa Karlström and Andreas Ulmke-Smeaton founded SamFilm GmbH in 1996, and Bernd Schiller has also been part of the management team since 2018. Well-known successes of the production were the theatrical adaptations of the Wilder Kerle and the film Es ist ein Moose sprung . In 2012 her film Five Friends came to the cinema. In the years that followed, they produced three more films in the Five Friends series. In addition, three films from the award-winning Ostwind series have been shown in theaters since 2013 .
