FGC 0938 is an edge-on spiral galaxy of the Scd type in the constellation of Water Snake . It is located about 5 arc minutes southwest of the galaxies NGC 2992 , NGC 2993 and Arp 245N and forms a system with them. Halton Arp organized his catalog of unusual galaxies into groups according to purely morphological criteria. This galaxy belongs to the class galaxies showing signs of splitting .
