Fabian Heldner (born June 24, 1996 in Visp ) is a Swiss ice hockey player who has been under contract with Lausanne HC in the National League since 2019 .

career

Heldner, who grew up in Eyholz , came from the youth movement of the EHC Visp , in 2012 he came to his first assignments for the Oberwalliser in the NLB .

In January 2014 he signed with HC Davos from the NLA until 2017. In the 2014/15 season he became Swiss champion with the HCD, and gained international experience with the Graubünden Champions Hockey League and the Spengler Cup . The experienced Beat Forster served as his “teacher” at HCD , at whose side Heldner often acted in defense: “He tells me every time something is as it shouldn't have been. And he shows me how to do better. He corrects me during games and training. For me this is an ideal solution, ”said Heldner in an interview in October 2015.

In April 2019, Heldner left HC Davos after five years and over 200 games and switched to Lausanne HC .

National team

Heldner was a Swiss international in the age groups U16, U17, U18 and U20. From late December 2015 to early January 2016, he played at the U20 World Cup in Finland.

At the beginning of February 2017 he was appointed to the senior national team.
