Tim Traber (born January 26, 1993 in Quesnel , British Columbia ) is a Canadian - Swiss ice hockey player . The 1.88-meter-tall attacking player has been part of the Lausanne HC squad in the National League since 2018 .

Player career

Traber was born in Canada and grew up there, he has both Canadian and Swiss citizenship. His parents had emigrated from Switzerland to Canada. In the 2008/09 season Traber went puck hunting in his home province of British Columbia for the Cariboo Cougars in the youth division BC Hockey Major Midget League. Between 2009 and 2014 he played in the Western Hockey League (WHL): first two years with the Chilliwack Bruins , then two seasons with the Victoria Royals before he played for the Vancouver Giants in 2013/14. In the summer of 2013 he was used in the European Trophy by Friborg-Gottéron from the National League A , without resulting in a long-term engagement with the NLA club.

In April 2014 he signed a contract with Friborg's NLA competitor Genève-Servette HC . In a post-engagement statement, Geneva's head coach Chris McSorley described Traber as an actor who got down to business on the ice and had the potential to be a regular on the GSHC NLA squad. During his first season in Geneva (2014/15) was 34 times the case, in addition, he recorded thanks to a Leihabkommens operations for the HC Red Ice in the National League B . In the 2015/16 season Traber took part in eleven NLA games for Genève-Servette and booked Ice Age in two other games for NLB club HC La Chaux-de-Fonds . He missed long stretches of the season due to injury.

In the 2018/19 season, Traber moved to Lausanne HC within the NLA .
