Robin Grossmann (born August 17, 1987 in Dintikon ) is a Swiss ice hockey player ( defender ) who has been under contract with Lausanne HC since 2018 .

Career

Robin Grossmann started his career in Wohlen at HC Wohlen Freiamt before joining the Kloten Flyers' junior team in 2000 . From 2002 he played for the Elite A-Juniors of the Flyers and made his debut in the National League A (NLA) for the Flyers in the 2005/06 season . In the following season , he completed a total of 15 appearances for NLA Kloten, but came apart from that the partner club EHC Biel and the U20 national team in the National League B used.

In December 2007 several NLA clubs tried to get a commitment from Grossmann, who finally signed a two-year contract with HC Davos. Due to an injury to Pascal Müller , Grossmann got a regular place in the defense of the HCD at the beginning of the season 2008/09, but had to fight for a place in the squad with Lukas Stoop and Andreas Furrer after Müller's return . He prevailed, played all 50 main round and 21 playoff games and won the Swiss championship with his team at the end of the season .

In October 2013, Grossmann signed a four-year contract with EV Zug. After the end of the 2017/18 season, he left Zug and moved to Lausanne HC within the National League .

International

Robin Grossmann played his first game for Switzerland in an international competition at the U18 World Cup in 2005 (ninth place, relegation to B-World Cup). After he had already played for the Swiss U20 national team in the NLB in the 2006/07 season , he also took part in the U20 World Cup in 2007 and finished in seventh place.

Robin Grossmann was nominated for a men's world championship for the first time in 2013 and won the silver medal with the Swiss national team in Stockholm .
