Technical data and equipment
The ships were originally powered by three twelve - cylinder four - stroke diesel engines from the manufacturer MWM (type: TBD 234 V 12) with an output of 654 kW each. The motors act on three fixed propellers via gears . The ships reach a speed of 23 knots .
In the summer of 2004, the port and starboard engines of the Mayor Brauer were exchanged and replaced by two twelve-cylinder four-stroke engines from the manufacturer Deutz (type: TBD 616 V 12). The two engines have an output of 660 kW each, so that the total output of the drive motors on this ship is 1974 kW.
In the spring of 2015 were on the mayor Weichmann the three drive motors manufacturer MWM Type TBD 234 V 12 with a new eight-cylinder - four stroke - diesel engines of the manufacturer Scania : with a (type DI 16 M V 8) performance of each 588 kW replaced.
Two generators with an apparent power of 48 kVA each are installed on the ships to provide power .
The ships are equipped with a bow thruster with an output of 50 kW. They are designed for operation with up to six crew members and, in addition to a closed steering position, also have an open steering position known as a flybridge . On the starboard side there is a fire fighting monitor behind the mast .
Both ships are equipped with a daughter boat that is carried in a stern tub. The daughter boats were exchanged in 2009 at the Hamburg State Shipyard in Harburg's inland port and the open plastic boats were replaced by aluminum boats with a superstructure. The daughter boat can leave the mother ship independently and be brought back on board using a hoist .
