Ferdinand von Jäger
Ferdinand Ritter von Jäger (born February 5, 1839 in Nuremberg , † November 7, 1916 in Würzburg ) was a Franconian lawyer . From 1899 he was the second mayor of Nuremberg.
Life
Jäger began to study law at the Friedrich-Alexander University in Erlangen . In 1860 he became active in the Corps Onoldia . As an inactive , he moved to the University of Leipzig . In 1873 he became a member of the Nuremberg Municipal Council. In 1899 he was appointed second mayor behind Georg Schuh and re-elected in 1905. He distinguished himself as a patron of art and science. In 1910 he was made an honorary citizen of the city of Nuremberg.
Ferdinand von Jäger died at the age of 77 and was buried in the family grave at the Johannisfriedhof (Nuremberg) (ID / 031a).
