Ferdinando D'Adda , also De Addua or De Abdva , (born August 27, 1650 in Milan , † January 27, 1719 in Rome ) was an Italian cardinal .

Life

Ferdinando D'Adda came from a patrician family. His parents were Costanzo d'Adda, Count of Sale, and Anna Cusani. He studied law at the University of Bologna and the University of Pavia . He was named by the College of Lawyers of Milan as auditor of the Roman Rota , but did not take this position, but was appointed by Pope Innocent XI. appointed Commendatabab of a famous abbey and charged with bringing the red biretta to Madrid for the newly appointed Cardinal Savo Millini , nuncio in Spainbring to. Ferdinando D'Adda took part in the 1691 conclave , which Pope Innocent XII. chose. On January 2, 1696 he moved to the titular church of Santa Balbina . From September 1696 he worked as a legate in Ferrara. In November 1698 he became a legate in Bologna , which he remained until February 1701. Ferdinando D'Adda was a participant in the 1700 conclave with the election of Pope Clement XI. Under the new Pope he became prefect of the Congregation for Rites and moved to the titular church of San Pietro in Vincoli on April 16, 1714 . On January 21, 1715, Ferdinando D'Adda became cardinal bishop and received the suburbicarian diocese of Albano .

Ferdinando D'Adda died on January 27, 1719 at 11:45 a.m. in his residence in Piazza Santi Apostoli and was buried two days later in the Church of San Carlo ai Catinari in Rome. He bequeathed his property to the Collegio Urbano de Propaganda Fide .
