Fernando Rubén Zuqui (born November 25, 1991 in Luján de Cuyo ) is an Argentine football player . The midfielder has been under contract with Turkish first division club Yeni Malatyaspor since August 2020 .

Career

Zuqui made his debut for CD Godoy Cruz on October 20, 2012 in a 0-0 draw against CA San Lorenzo in the Primera División . On October 27, 2014, he scored his first goal in professional football against CA Independiente .

For the 2016/17 season, Zuqui moved to league rivals Boca Juniors . The transfer fee was 2.6 million euros. However, Zuqui could not assert himself at the top Argentine club. In his first season in the Xeneizes jersey , he only made 13 appearances, in which he was mostly substituted on late.

After a year, Zuqui moved on to Estudiantes de La Plata on August 24, 2017 . Five days later he was already in the starting line-up for the game against Arsenal de Sarandí and was able to prepare Christian Alemán's decisive goal for the 2-1 winner. He scored his first goal on February 4, 2018 in a 4-2 home win over Newell's Old Boys .

On January 20, 2019, Fernando Zuqui moved to CA Colón in a year and a half loan deal . There he was considered a regular player both in the remaining 2018/19 season and in the 2019/20 season. On October 22, 2019 (10th matchday), he scored his only goal of the season in 29 league appearances for the Sabalero in a 2-1 home win against CD Godoy Cruz .

On August 21, 2020 Zuqui moved to Turkish first division club Yeni Malatyaspor .
