Fides Krause-Brewer
Fides Krause-Brewer (née Hofer ; born August 1, 1919 in Munich ; † August 9, 2018 in Bonn ) was a German television journalist who was primarily responsible for business broadcasts on ZDF .
Career and activities
Krause-Brewer grew up in Berlin . She studied economics in Munich , Freiburg and Innsbruck . As a freelance radio journalist , she reported for the North German Radio , Radio Bremen , Bavarian and South German Radio from 1950 . Her specialty was social and economic issues.
In 1962 she became the ZDF correspondent in Bonn. She also took part in Werner Höfer's international morning pint . Krause-Brewer was a founding member of Care Germany , founding chairwoman of the Bonner Opernfreunde and founding member of the Bürger for Beethoven .
Krause-Brewer campaigned for professional equality between men and women.
Fides Krause-Brewer died on August 9, 2018, eight days after her 99th birthday, in Bonn.
family
Both of Fides Krause-Brewer's parents were journalists. Grandfather Bernhard Dernburg (1865–1937) was head of the Reich Colonial Office from 1906 to 1910 (from 1907 with the rank of State Secretary) and Vice Chancellor and Finance Minister in the Weimar Republic. The liberal publicist and politician Friedrich Dernburg (1833–1911) was her great-grandfather. Her husband, Gerhard Krause-Brewer, was a ministerial advisor; he died in 1978. They had a daughter with him, the former Bremen member of parliament Sibylle Winther .
