Flings Joyner Owusu-Agyapong (born October 16, 1988 in Kumasi ) is a Ghanaian sprinter who specializes in the 100-meter run .

Athletic career

Flings Owusu-Agyapong gained her first international experience at the 2010 African Championships in Nairobi , where she was eliminated in the semi-finals in the 100-meter run with 12.00 s and with the Ghanaian 4-by-100-meter relay in 45.40 s won the bronze medal behind the teams from Nigeria and Cameroon. The following year she took part in the Africa Games in Maputo for the first time, but was eliminated there with 11.88 s in the first round. In 2012 she was fifth over 100 meters in 11.75 s at the African Championships in Porto-Novo and won the silver medal behind Nigeria in 44.35 s with the relay. In 2014 she qualified for the World Indoor Championships in Sopot , where she was eliminated in the preliminary round with 7.42 seconds in the 60-meter run . Then she reached the semi-finals at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow over 100 meters, in which she was eliminated with 11.55 s. In addition, she was disqualified with the Ghanaian relay in the preliminary run. Then she won at the African Championships in Marrakech in 44.06 s again the bronze medal with the relay behind Nigeria and the Ivory Coast. In the individual competition she was disqualified in the semifinals.

2015 she won at the Africa Games in Brazzaville in 43.72 s the silver medal behind Nigeria and was in 11.61 s sixth in the 100 meters. The following year she won the silver medal at the African Championships in Durban in 44.05 s with the relay behind the team from South Africa and did not appear in the semifinals over the sprint distance. In addition, they also participated in the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in part where it's at 11.43 in advance eliminated. Even with the relay she could not qualify for the final in 43.37 s , as well as at the World Championships in London the following year, in which 43.68 s were not enough for the final . In 2018 she retired from the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham with 7.49 s in the first round. At the end of August she took part again in the Africa Games in Rabat and finished eighth with the relay in 47.24 s.
