The Flinthörn is a German passenger ship built in 1968 .

history

The ship was built in 1968 under construction number 1363 at the Kröger shipyard in Schacht-Audorf . The keel was laid on February 26th, launch and christening on June 12th, 1968. The ship was completed on June 1, 1968. On June 18, 1968, it was delivered to the client, Kieler Verkehrs AG , and used as Mönkeberg on the Kiel Fjord .

During the 1972 Summer Olympics , the ship was used as a regatta escort in the sailing regattas on the Kiel Fjord.

On January 22, 1990, the ship was sold to the Insel- und Halligreederei Kurt Paulsen , which used it as Adler VIII from List from June of that year . From July 1995 the ship was used between Usedom and Swinemünde and from July 1997 between Ueckermünde and Heringsdorf .

On July 16, 2001 the ship was brought under the Panamanian flag as Atena and used for trips from Swinoujscie to Usedom and Kamminke .

In November 2004 it was sold to the passenger ship shipping company MS Fembria. The ship, which was renamed Fembria on March 10, 2005 , was subsequently used for trips from Heiligenhafen and from March 2005 also for trips from Burgstaaken . On October 15, 2005, the ship, which has meanwhile been brought under the German flag again, was renamed Feodora .

From April 2, 2006, the ship was used for trips on the Flensburg Fjord between Flensburg and Kollund as well as Flensburg, Gråsten and Langballigau and from March 15, 2008 between Langballigau and Sønderborg . From November 2010, excursions were offered by ship from Maasholm .

At the beginning of 2012, the ship was sold to the Damwerth shipping company, which uses it as a Flinthörn - named after the salt marsh and dune area in the southwest of the island of Langeoog - for excursions from Langeoog and Bensersiel .

Technical data and equipment

The drive of the ship by an eight-cylinder - diesel engine manufacturer motor Werke Mannheim (type: RHS 518 A). The motor acts on a fixed propeller via a reduction gear .

For electricity generation, a stand via a power take-off driven by the main motor generator and a generator driven by a diesel engine MWM generator and an emergency generator is available.
