The Northwest Regional Airport Terrace-Kitimat is a regional airport in the Canadian province of British Columbia . It is in the time zone UTC -8 ( DST -7). The airport is operated by the Terrace-Kitimat Airport Society.
location
The regional airport is about 6 kilometers south of Terrace and about 56 north of Kitimat . Highway 37 runs east of the airport and the Skeena River flows north of the airport .
history
The airport was built in 1943 as part of a national defense plan. In 1946 the airport was handed over to the National Ministry of Transport.
