The airfield Ailertchen is a special airfield in Westerburg . It is located in the Westerwald between Cologne and Frankfurt am Main .
Airlines, destinations and association
The airfield is used by the Flugsportverein Glück Auf Ailertchen eV . Airplanes up to 2000 kg can land on the grass runway. In addition, skydiving is operated by the company My - SkyConcept
GmbH & Co. KG offered.
Directions
The Ailertchen airfield is close to the B 255 ( Montabaur - Herborn ). The B 414 is about 12 kilometers away .
Resident aircraft
You can regularly see a Robin DR300 / Remo 180 Avions Robin, a Diamond Da20 "Katana" owned by the local aviation club and a Pilatus Porter Pc-6 owned by My - SkyConcept GmbH & Co. KG, which also actively participates in flight operations drops off parachutists there. There are also several gliders, more precisely an ASK21, an ASK 13, a K8, an ASW 24, a DG1000, a Mistral, an ASK23, which belong to the aviation club, at the airfield. Air shows and airfield festivals
Every year at Whitsun there is an airfield festival with air shows and exhibitions at the airfield, as well as an air day with model airplanes, where model airplanes are presented and some of them also fly.
Start types of gliders
Only aircraft tows are carried out at the Ailertchen airfield, in which the glider is pulled behind a motorized aircraft by a rope and the tow rope is released at a certain height. The F-tow is carried out with the Robin Dr300 / Remo 180 Avions Robin from FSV Ailertchen.

Incidents
- On July 13, 2001, a Schleicher ASK 16 hit hard on landing, which tore off the landing gear. The touring motor glider was badly damaged.
- On July 25, 2009, a Center Est DR400 had an accident during a false start on EDGA, rolled over the end of the runway and collided with a road. The plane was badly damaged.
- On October 5, 2018, a 39-year-old parachutist fell to his death on the grounds of the Ailertchen airfield.
- On May 30, 2020, a Cessna 182 C Skylane got into the power line while approaching EDGA and then crashed into a private house. The pilot was seriously injured, the aircraft was completely destroyed and the house was badly damaged.
