The forester's house Glaubzahl is located northwest of the Nidda district of Harb in the Wetterau district . Today the federal road 457 from Rodheim to Nidda passes here.

history

The forest Glaubzahl belonged to the Landgraves of Hesse . It was part of their hunting area in Upper Hesse . The forest was first mentioned on March 10, 1490. On this day Johann von Bellersheim received from Landgrave Wilhelm III. u. a. the forest, which he had already owned by the late Landgrave Heinrich III. had to fief . According to the Niddaer Salbuch of 1537, the descendants of Balthasar von Schrautenbach had received the forest Glaubzahl as a landgrave's fief. Of this, they left 80 acres of land for clearing to the Rodheim residents for four guilders a year, which the residents of Borsdorf complained about .

The forester's house Glaubzahl was built in 1634 in the middle of the Thirty Years War . A medieval long-distance path passed here, which in this section was called "Schotter Straße" or "Frankfurter Straße".

Faith is part of a large farm yard surrounded by a wall. The forester's house is a single-storey baroque stone building. Sandstone walls and a coat of arms in the lintel are design elements. The forester's house has a half-hip roof . Opposite the forester's house is the farm building, which was built from rubble stones in the 18th century.

The forester's house was elevated to a cultural monument for historical reasons . "The baroque sandstone arch in the wall with plant ornamentation and a devil's head relief in the keystone is a cultural monument because of its artistic importance."

The lonely courtyard was also the target of robbers , u. a. Here in 1808 Ernst Görz from Södel stole laundry from the bleach. He made common cause with Conrad Anschuh from Rodheim bei Hungen.

During the time of the Grand Duchy of Hesse , the farm was a district forester . In 1885 Victor Klöpper was appointed forester from the forester's house. Forester Johannes Numrich lived here from April 1, 1897 until at least 1913.

From around 1900 there was also a restaurant with a garden. This was closed in 1939.

The property is currently privately owned.
