Four Nations Chess League 2010/11
The 2010/11 season was the 18th season of the Four Nations Chess League (4NCL).
Pride and Prejudice became champions before defending champions Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher , but withdrew the team after the season. Pandora's Box Grantham , the Sambuca Sharks and Warwickshire Selects also had to relegate .

Game dates
The competitions took place on November 6 and 7, 2010, on January 15 and 16, 2011, on February 19 and 20, 2011, on March 26 and 27, 2011 and from April 30 to May 2, 2011. All rounds were centered, the first two and the seventh and eighth in Daventry , the third, fourth and ninth to eleventh in Hinckley , and the fifth and sixth in Reading .

Pool A
Before the last round, three qualifying places for the championship pool were awarded to Pride and Prejudice , Betsson.com and the first team of the Barbican Chess Club , the last place in the championship pool was secured by last year's climber Cheddleton and Leek Chess Club by beating Barbican. In the demotion pool, the second team of the Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher , The ADs , the newly promoted Warwickshire Selects and Pandora's Box Grantham had to play. The best starting positions for the championship pool went to Pride and Prejudice with 6: 0 points, while Betsson.com took 3: 3 points into the finals, Cheddleton 2: 4 points and Barbican 1: 5 points. In the demotion pool, the second team of Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher and The ADs each took 5: 1 points, Warwickshire Selects 2: 4 points and Pandora's Box Grantham 0: 6 points.

Pool B
In the second preliminary round, the first team of Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher , last year's climbers e2e4.org.uk and White Rose Chess safely qualified for the championship pool, while Guildford A&DC secured fourth place with victories against their direct competitors from Cambridge and Oxford. In addition to the Cambridge University Chess Club and Oxford, the second team of the Barbican Chess Club and the newcomer Sambuca Sharks had to compete in the demotion pool. The best starting position for the championship pool was achieved by Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher's first team with 6: 0 points, while White Rose started the final round with 4: 2 points, e2.e4.org.uk with 2: 4 points and Guildford 0: 6 points took over in the finals. In the demotion pool, Cambridge took 6: 0 points, Oxford 4: 2 points, Barbicans second team 2: 4 points and the Sambuca Sharks 0: 6 points.

Finals
Championship pool
The results of the preliminary round let the decision only be expected in a direct comparison in the last round between the defending champion Wood Green Hilsmark Kingfisher and Pride and Prejudice . In fact, both teams defeated all competitors. Pride and Prejudice also won the direct comparison and thus became champions, but withdrew his team afterwards.

Demotion pool
In the demotion pool, Pandora's Box Grantham , the Sambuca Sharks and Warwickshire Selects had three relegated teams before the last round. In purely sporting terms, Oxford would have been the fourth relegated team after the final round defeat against direct competitor The ADs , but by withdrawing the Masters Pride and Prejudice they still managed to stay up.
