François Schons (born January 17, 1984 ) is a Luxembourg ice hockey player who has been playing for the IHC Beaufort since 2013 . Since 2016 he takes with the team at the Belgian National League Division I in part.

Career

François Schons started his career at Hiversport Luxembourg . In 2002 he moved to the record champions Tornado Luxembourg , for whom he played in the Luxembourg ice hockey league as well as in the fifth-rate German Rhineland-Palatinate league and the fourth-rate French division 3 . In 2003 he was Luxembourg national champion with Tornado. From 2013 to 2016 he was again on the ice at IHC Beaufort in the Rhineland-Palatinate League. Since 2016 he has been playing with the team in the Belgian National League Division I , the country's second-highest division.

International

In the junior division, Schons played for Luxembourg at the U18-D European Championship in 1998 , the U18 World Championship in 1999 and 2000 in European Division 2, and in 2001 in the qualification for Division III of the U20 World Championship and Division III of the U20 World Championship 2003 .

With the men's national team , Schons took part in the world title bouts of Division II in 2002 and 2004 and Division III in 2003 , 2005 , 2006 , 2007 , 2008 , 2009 , 2010 , when he was voted both the best defender of the tournament and the best player on his team took part in 2011 , 2013 , 2014 and 2017 . At the 2018 World Cup , he played in Division II for the first time.
