Francis Bugri (born November 9, 1980 in Eschwege ) is a former German football player .

Career

Bugri played football up to the C-youth in Kassel and then moved to the B-youth of Borussia Dortmund . He was discovered by Marcel Răducanu , who recommended him to BVB. With the Dortmund A youth he was twice German champion and once with the B youth.

The breakthrough as a Bundesliga professional was denied him. Overall, he made only four Bundesliga appearances at BVB in the 1999/00 (3 appearances) and 2001/02 (1 appearance) seasons, as well as a substitute in the Uefa Cup (round of 16 second leg 1999/2000 against Galatasaray Istanbul ) and an appearance in the Champions League (group stage 2001/02 against Dynamo Kiev ).

With his substitution in the 90th minute on matchday 13 against 1860 Munich , he was at least part of the 2002 championship team. With his appearance in the group stage of the 2001/02 Champions League, from which BVB relegated to the UEFA Cup, he was part of the team Squad that reached the 2002 UEFA Cup Final.

After the championship season he played for Borussia Dortmund II for two years. Then he went through an odyssey in the lower soccer leagues, changing clubs several times and rarely stayed longer than one season with the same club. He played for Kickers Emden , VfB Lübeck , KSV Hessen Kassel , Braband IF , SpVgg Erkenschwick and Sportfreunde Lotte . Between 2009 and 2011 he played for TuS Eving-Lindenhorst and rose with this in his first season from the state league to the Westphalia league . After three seasons he moved to league and city rivals ASC 09 Dortmund . After the 2013/14 season, which ended with the ASC's promotion to the league, Bugri ended his career.

Bugri also plays in the traditional BVB team.

In addition, Bugri went through all youth national teams of the DFB . At the U-17 World Cup in Egypt in 1997 , Bugri played with later top professionals such as Sebastian Deisler , Sebastian Kehl and Roman Weidenfeller , and in the end he was elected to the all-star team of this World Cup.
