Frank ER Diem

Frank ER Diem (born March 21, 1955 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German lawyer , author , lecturer and holder of the Federal Cross of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany . His mentors were the presiding judge at the Higher Regional Court Hartmut Stähle and the presiding judge at the Federal Court of Justice Gerhard Schäfer (1st Criminal Senate) . Diem is married, has two children and is a member of the A. V. Virtembergia student union in Tübingen .

Life

After graduating from high school in Ludwigsburg , he studied law at the University of Tübingen and during this time volunteered as a student assistant at the Stuttgarter Zeitung (“Sportbericht”) and Sonntag Aktuell . Since 1982 he worked as a research associate in several law firms and was established in 1985 as a lawyer admitted. In 1987, together with two partners, he founded a liaison office in Istanbul , from which the first and to this day only active German law firm to be admitted to the Istanbul Bar Association developed . Frank Diem is the initiator and founding partner of the European lawyers network Advoselect EWIV (founded in 1991), of which he was chairman of the supervisory board until 2012. Together with other colleagues, he founded the AnwaltSuchservice GmbH , the first digital database for the identification of professionally specialized lawyers in Germany, for whose business model he fought (and won) up to the Federal Constitutional Court together with the other founding shareholders.

From 1992 to 1997 he worked on behalf of the Saxon Ministry of Economics and Labor as a trustee and coordinator for measures to promote employment for around 7,000 former employees from the Saxon textile industry, where he managed the 10th job through the M & M Arbeitsbeschaffungs- Förderungsgesellschaft mbH Burgstädt Companies spread across the entire federal state initiated the existing Textile Working Group in Saxony , which he advised for 5 years as legal advisor on questions of corporate law and labor law . His clients include board members of banks , insurers and industrial companies .

From 1992 to 2014 Diem was a member of the board of the Stuttgart Bar Association , from 2002 to 2006 a member of the presidium and from 2006 to 2012 its president. He was co-initiator of the training institute of the Stuttgart Bar Association and its partnership with the Bar Association in Bursa / Turkey . Since 1996 he has headed the quality management committee of the Federal Bar Association , of which he was a member from 2006 to 2012.

From 1992 to 2000, Diem worked as a lecturer and examiner at the Württemberg Administration and Business Academy. V. and is active since 2004 lecturer in civil law at the Law Faculty of the University of Tuebingen and lecturer of the Higher Regional Court of Stuttgart for the clerkship .

In the non-profit sector, Frank Diem worked as a board member of a student dormitory (1988–1994), as legal advisor and chairman of the trade and trade association Stuttgart West e. V. (in the BDS) (1982–1992), as a member of the joint vocational training committee for the profession of paralegal in Baden-Württemberg (1994–2000) and since 2006 as a member of the board of directors of the Juristic Society Tübingen e. V.

On July 26, 2016, Federal President Joachim Gauck , represented at the handover by the Minister of Justice of the State of Baden-Württemberg Guido Wolf , awarded him the Cross of Merit on the ribbon of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany .
