Frans Coebel van Loo

Frans Coebel van der Loo , Lord of (der) Loo , also known as François Coebel (* around 1470 in Delft ; † September 12, 1532 ) was a Dutch politician.

Vita

Frans Coebel van der Loo was a son of Pieter Claes Cobelsz, veertigraad of Delft. He was married to Christina van Rijswijck, a daughter of Mr. Dirck van Rijswijck, arithmetic master in The Hague. The couple had three children with Dirck, Anna and Catharina.

Frans Coebel van der Loo studied at the universities of Paris (1485–1486), Leuven (1487) and Orléans (1490). In August 1500 he was appointed State Advocate for the States of Holland . He held this office until 1513. In that year he was also introduced as councilor in the Hofes van Holland, Zealand and West Friesland .

In 1525 Frans Coebel was enfeoffed with the Hofstede De Loo in Voorburg . From now on he could call himself "Heer van de Loo".
