Jacob van den Eynde
Jacob van den Eynde (* approx. 1515 ; † approx. 1570 in Vilvoorde ) was a Dutch statesman.
Biographical
Jacob van den Eynde was councilor and pensionary of the city Delft when he in 1560 the last country lawyer (earlier form of the Council pensioner ) of the County of Holland was ordered.
In 1568 he was accused of heresy and taken prisoner by the Dutch governor Maximilien de Hénin-Liétard . Van den Eynde was taken to the Treurenberg ( Vilvoorde ) prison in Brussels . Here he awaited his trial. In 1570 Jacob van den Eynde died in anticipation of this and was found posthumously innocent one and a half years later by the Blood Council ("Raad van Beroerten"). The goods confiscated by him were returned to his family.
