Anthonie Duyck , also Anthonis Duyck (* around 1560 in The Hague ; † September 13, 1629 ibid) was a Dutch politician who was able to fulfill the highest government office of a council pensioner between the years 1621 and 1629 .

Anthonie Duyck studied law at the Universiteit Leiden , and in 1589 was promoted to prosecutor in the body of the State Council of the Netherlands, called Raad van State . As head of the Council of State, he supported Moritz von Oranien-Nassau in his military undertakings from 1591 to 1602. Duyck wrote very long reports on them, and in 1602 Duyck was appointed archivist at the Hof van Holland . Against his will, Duyck had to appear at the side of François van Aerssen as one of the prosecutors against Johan van Oldenbarnevelt .

After a brief interlude by Andries de Witt , Duyck was appointed council pensioner of Holland and West Friesland in 1621 . Since Duycks was more of an official than a statesman, Moritz von Oranien-Nassau had an easy time implementing his political convictions with him. Duyck held this office until his death in 1629.

Anthonie Duyck's diaries on the campaigns committed by Moritz of Orange were published under the name Journaal van Maurits' krijgsverrichtingen van 1591-1602 .
