Franz Xaver Horneis
Franz Xaver Horneis († April 22, 1749 in Eichstätt ; also Hornaiß or Horniß ) was a plasterer of the Baroque period in the Eichstätt monastery .
Life
Its origin is unknown. He was probably trained by Jakob Eck and was a busy plasterer in the following years in the prince-bishop's residence city of Eichstätt and especially in Hochstiftsorten. In 1712, 1719, 1721 and 1723 the name appears in Eichstätter parish registers ; only the mention of 1723 relates to him with certainty, since only here is he referred to as “Stukkadorer”.

In addition to stucco walls and ceilings in churches, prince-bishop's and private buildings, he also made stucco pulpits in churches, in which he shows himself to be a master.
His best-known work is the stucco in the Benedictine monastery Plankstetten from 1727ff., Even if his part can hardly be excluded from the work of other “stucco” there.
