Franz Seraphim Lederer

Franz Seraphim Lederer (born March 5, 1866 in Pfaffenberg ; † June 21, 1939 in Regensburg ) was a Catholic clergyman and a member of the German Reichstag .

Life

Lederer attended elementary school in Pfaffenberg, the grammar school at Metten Monastery and the Lyceum in Regensburg. He was ordained on May 31, 1891, he became a cooperator in Saal on June 10, 1891, parish provisional in Sinzig on July 16, 1894, parish provisional in Speinshart on January 5, 1895, benefit provisional in Erbendorf on July 6, 1895 and pastor in Lupburg on December 28, 1909. He was a co-founder of several organizations in the Upper Palatinate, founder of the Christian glass workers 'association and long-time leader of the same until his conversion to the Christian ceramic workers' association in Germany. He was awarded the King Ludwig Cross and the Prussian Cross of Merit .

From 1913 to 1918 he was a member of the German Reichstag for the constituency of Upper Palatinate 3 ( Neumarkt , Velburg , Hemau ) and the German Center Party . In 1918 Lederer was one of those MPs who campaigned for women's suffrage, and with a coalition of parties that formed the majority, he submitted a corresponding motion, which, however, was no longer put to the vote because of the outbreak of revolution. From 1919 he was a member of the district council and from 1920 of the district chamber of farmers in Parsberg . In addition, Lederer was chairman of the supervisory board of the economic association of Catholic clergy in Bavaria and a state committee member of the diocesan priests' associations in Bavaria. Between 1920 and 1932 he was a member of the Bavarian State Parliament for the Bavarian People's Party .
