Fredens Kirke

Fredens Sogn ( German: Friedensgemeinde ) is a parish community ( Danish : Sogn ) in the city of Svendborg on the island of Fyn ( German : Funen ) in southern Denmark , which was created in September 1987 by splitting off from Vor Frue Sogn . This belonged to Harde Sunds Herred in what was then Svendborg Office until 1970 , then to Svendborg Municipality in Fyns Office , which was merged into the "new" Svendborg Municipality in the Syddanmark region on January 1, 2007 as part of the municipal reform . In 1977 the eastern part of Vor Frue Sogn, the church district of Fredens Kirkedistrikt , got its own parish council and in September 1987 the church district became an independent Sogn.

Of the 27,068 inhabitants of Svendborg, 5070 live in the parish of Fredens (as of January 1, 2020).

In the parish is the church "Fredens Kirke" (Eng .: Church of Peace ).

Neighboring municipalities are Vor Frue Sogn in the northwest , Tved Sogn in the north and southeast and Skårup Sogn in the northeast .
