Friedrich August Anton Maria Freiherr von Elverfeld called von Beverfoerde-Werries (born June 28, 1796 in Münster , † May 21, 1864 in Hamm ) was a Prussian major general . On December 19, 1844, his title of baron was confirmed , recognition of which his father had been refused because of his collaboration with the French .

Life

origin

His parents were the chamberlain and landowner Friedrich Clemens von Elverfeldt called Beverförde zu Werries (1767-1835) and his wife Maria Anna Wilhelmine, née Countess von und zu Westerholt-Gysenberg (1774-1852). His sister Wilhelmine Gisberta (born March 21, 1801) was married to Major General Lebrecht von Graevenitz .

Career

Elverfeld received his school education in Münster. In 1813 he joined the 4th Regiment of the Garde d'honneur of the French Army . On December 13, 1813, he switched to Prussian service and was employed as a second lieutenant in the 1st Westphalian Landwehr Cavalry Regiment. His patent was dated June 3, 1814. In 1815 Elverfeld fought in the battles at Ligny and Belle Alliance as well as the sieges of La Ferte and Laon and the battle at Villers-Cotterêts .

On May 24, 1816 he was aggregated to the 11th Hussar Regiment and assigned to July 1, 1817. On October 1, 1819, he was assigned to the training squadron, before Elverfeld was transferred to the Hussar Guard regiment on March 30, 1820 . In 1826 he was commanded to buy horses on the Moldau before Elverfeld was promoted to Prime Lieutenant on November 15, 1827 . On August 2, 1830, he received the papal order of the Golden Spur . On October 14, 1833 Elverfeld was promoted to Rittmeister and squadron chief in his regiment. In 1838 he received the service cross . On April 23, 1842 Elverfeld was promoted to major and appointed staff officer . In addition, on September 17, 1843, he received the Order of the Red Eagle IV class and the Russian Order of St. Stanislaus, II class. On December 14, 1848 Elverfeld was appointed commander of the Guard Hussar Regiment. In this position, on 26 September 1850, the transport followed to Lieutenant Colonel and on December 2, 1851 to Colonel . Under awarding of the character as a major general Elverfeld received on 11 May 1854 his farewell with pension before July 21, 1856 Pension zur disposition was made. On October 18, 1861, he received the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd Class with Oak Leaves.

Elverfeld married on June 5, 1837 in Buhrau near Sagan Maria Clementine Fortunata Bianka Countess von Kospoth (* 1812; † December 23, 1881). The couple had several children:
