Friedrich August Hahn , since 1846 Hahn von Dorsche (born January 21, 1815 in Marienburg , † November 25, 1885 in Gera ) was a Prussian major general and commandant of Graudenz .

Life

Friedrich was a son of the tax councilor and tax collector of the same name, Friedrich August Hahn († 1864) and his wife Wilhelmine, née Gottschewski († 1855). He was adopted by the Prime Lieutenant in the 33rd Infantry Regiment and the last of his tribe in Warmia Theodor von Dorsche († 1851) and on October 24, 1846, with a diploma from November 20, 1863, he was raised to the Prussian nobility with the title of Dorsche .

Military career

After attending the Thorner Gymnasium , Hahn joined the 1st Pioneer Department of the Prussian Army as a pioneer on May 6, 1832 and was promoted to NCO at the beginning of April 1833 . For further training he graduated from the United Artillery and Engineering School in October 1833 and was transferred to the 33rd Infantry Regiment (1st Reserve Regiment) on August 26, 1834. He rose to the rank of Second Lieutenant by mid-February 1837 and was in command of the Infantry Training Battalion from March to September 1847 and of the Guards Pioneer Department from November 1847 to May 1848 . From December 1850 to October 1851 he was commanded as the leader of the criminal department in Thorn . On March 11, 1854 he was promoted to captain and from March 16, 1854 to October 31, 1857 as a company commander in the Landwehr battalion of his regiment in Bartenstein . In mid-March 1858 he was appointed company commander . Hahn rose to major at the beginning of January 1864 and on April 18, 1865 was given command of the III. Battalion that he led the following year in the war against Austria in the battles of Münchengrätz and Königgrätz .

After the war he was promoted to lieutenant colonel on March 22, 1868 , and on April 12, 1870, under position à la suite of his regiment, he was appointed commander of Graudenz. In this capacity, after mobilization on the occasion of the war against France on July 26, 1870 , Hahn advanced to colonel and from August 23, 1870 was commander of the 3rd Westphalian Infantry Regiment No. 16 for the duration of the mobile relationship . He took part in the siege of Metz and was badly wounded in the back and forearm at Bellevue .
