Friedrich Heinrich Konstantin von Twardowski (born March 2, 1801 in Königsberg , † March 23, 1876 in Berlin ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .

Life

Friedrich was a son of the Prussian major general Konstantin von Twardowski (1760-1830) and his wife Henriette, née von Hirschfeld (1778-1860).

Military career

Twardowski joined the 3rd Cuirassier Regiment (1st East Prussian) of the Prussian Army as a cuirassier on June 17, 1817 and was promoted to second lieutenant by the end of February 1819 . From August 29, 1820 to October 1, 1821 he was assigned to the teaching squadron. On March 30, 1827 he was assigned to the command as adjutant of the 2nd Division and at the end of March 1832 he was aggregated to the 5th Cuirassier Regiment , leaving it in this position . Twardowski received the Order of Saint Anne III in mid-September 1833 . Class, was commanded as an adjutant of the 1st Division at the end of September and on March 30, 1837, was aggregated to the 3rd Cuirassier Regiment while leaving his position. At the end of March 1838 he was promoted to Rittmeister and was transferred to the adjutantage on April 7, 1842. On July 8, 1843, he was appointed adjutant to the General Command of the 1st Army Corps and in this position he received permission to participate in the exercises of the X. German Federal Corps near Lüneburg in mid-September 1843 . As a major , Twardowski was adjutant at the General Command of the V Army Corps from June 24, 1848 to December 31, 1849 and was then made available to Lieutenant General von Radowitz at the provisional Federal Military Commission in Frankfurt am Main . He rose to lieutenant colonel at the end of March 1852 and was transferred to the army officers two months later while remaining in his command.

On September 8, 1853, he was appointed second agent of the Federal Military Commission. He was promoted on July 13, 1854 Colonel and received on 18 March 1857 the character as a major general. On November 24, 1859 he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Order of the Oak Crown and on January 17, 1860 with the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. On July 1, 1860, he received the patent for his rank and was appointed Commandant of Stettin . Twardowski was put up for disposition on January 29, 1863, when he was awarded the Crown Order II. Class with a star . On December 24, 1871, he was given the character of Lieutenant General. He died on March 23, 1876 in Berlin and was buried on March 25, 1876 in the Invalidenfriedhof .

family

On October 20, 1836 in Königsberg, he married Auguste Friederike von Studnitz (1817–1854) , a daughter of the Rittmeister in the Hussar Regiment of Plötz and landlord Adam-Wenzel von Studnitz (1783–1821) and his wife Luise von Wissel (* 1788 ). The couple had nine children including:

  • Konstantin (1839–1870), consul of the North German Confederation in Constantinople, died as a lieutenant at Sedan
  • Friedrich Andreas (1839–1870), Premier Lieutenant in the 3rd Guards Regiment on foot , killed at St. Privat ⚭ 1868 Wilhelmine Adelheid Ulrike Hedwig von Blücher (1849–1921)
