Fritz Reheis is a member and employee of the Political Economy Working Group , the German Society for Sociology and the German Society for Educational Sciences , the Association for the Delay of Time and the Ecology of Time project at the Evangelical Academy in Tutzing . In 2003 he founded the German Society for Time Policy together with Karlheinz Geißler , Ulrich Mückenberger and others in Berlin . Reheis is also a member of Attac's Scientific Advisory Board .

Since the beginning of the 1990s, his main scientific and journalistic interest has been dealing with time, in particular the dangers of accelerating and de-rhythmizing the world. He describes the present as being sick with acceleration. When people deal with themselves, with their fellow human beings and with non-human nature, there is less and less time left for regeneration and for reflecting on what is important. The aspect of sustainable development also deserves more attention . The turbo society is highly destructive in the long run. This can also be seen in the turbo school, where children and young people are pressured into knowledge with great pressure and education in a demanding sense largely falls by the wayside. A deceleration of school and society is necessary, but this is ultimately linked to a fundamental change in our economy and in particular the role of money (see also criticism of capitalism ). It was important to overcome the destructive self-indulgence of monetary dynamics, and in the sense of solidarity economy , the proper times and rhythms to respect human, society and nature. Ultimately, according to Reheis, in his most recent publications, in which he further developed Friedrich Cramer's general theory of resonance and Hartmut Rosa's work , the environment, the surrounding world and the inner world can be experienced as resonance spaces. This is the only way to make the “symphony of life” drowned out by the “noise of money” audible again.

His thinking is influenced by Karl Marx , Erich Fromm , Immanuel Wallerstein , Elmar Altvater , but also Jürgen Habermas , Peter Ulrich , Oskar Negt , Axel Honneth , Zygmunt Bauman , Richard Sennett as well as Friedrich Cramer , Karlheinz Geißler , Hartmut Rosa and Niko Paech .
