With effect from January 1, 2016, the previous municipalities of Gémages , L'Hermitière , Mâle , La Rouge , Saint-Agnan-sur-Erre and Le Theil were merged into a Commune nouvelle with the name Val-au-Perche and dispose of the new one Commune on the status of a Commune déléguée . The administrative headquarters are located in Le Theil.

Attractions

  • The Romanesque Église Saint-Martin was extended by a yoke to the west in the 15th century and also received a bell tower with a pent roof . The nave , which is only approx. 5 m wide , is spanned by a vaulted wooden ceiling with tie rods . The walls of the retracted triumphal arch still show the remains of late medieval paintings. The back wall of the flat chancel is decorated with baroque paintings; the altar itself dates from 1652. The church has been recognized as a monument historique since 2000 .
  • The area of the Moulin de Gémages , interspersed with small streams and ponds, is suitable for anglers.
