The Society for Education and Research in Europe e. V. (short: GBFE ) is an internationally and interculturally oriented network of Christian educational institutions with evangelical character based in Oerlinghausen .
The association promotes international studies and research projects in various disciplines at master's and doctoral level in cooperation with other international educational institutions. The main discipline is theology in cooperation with the University of South Africa (Unisa).
The GBFE wants to promote men and women by providing them with a sound academic education based on Christian values. The academic development programs of the GBFE can be studied part-time. In theology there is a special offer for career changers who have previously studied another subject.
GBFE institutes currently exist in Germany, Switzerland and Denmark. The first chairman of GBFE eV is Christoph Stenschke .
history
In 2000, the GBFE was founded by Klaus W. Müller as the successor institute of the Research Center for German-speaking Evangelical Missions from Korntal . This year already, 5 graduates obtained a degree from the GBFE. In January 2000 the cooperation with the University of South Africa was signed. In 2002 most of the current member institutes joined the GBFE. In 2008 GBFE joined the European Evangelical Accrediting Association as an associate member. Since 2010, a degree entitled Theology Certificate has been offered, which is intended for volunteer workers in congregations.
By 2010, a total of 106 people had graduated from GBFE, including 9 Bachelor of Theology , 69 Master of Theology and 28 Doctor theologiae .
