Gabriela Krestan

Gabriela Krestan (* 1953 in Vienna ) is an Austrian actress .

Life

Gabriela Krestan first studied German and history at the University of Vienna . From 1975 she received her acting training privately from the castle actor Helmuth Krauss in Vienna.

From 1976 she had theater engagements at the Darmstadt State Theater , the Bielefeld City Theater , the Wiesbaden State Theater and the Nuremberg Municipal Theaters .

From 1981 until the end of the 2018/19 season she was a permanent member of the ensemble at the Saarland State Theater in Saarbrücken . There she played from the 2009/10 season a. a. the mother in Maria Magdalena (2010, director: Dagmar Schlingmann ), the Elbe in Draußen vor der Tür (2011, director: Christoph Daum ), the mother in Andorra (premiere: season 2016/17, director: Markus Heinzelmann ) and the Daja in Nathan the Wise (premiere: 2017/18 season, director: Bettina Bruinier ).

In the 2017/18 season she took on the role of Mrs. Higgins in a new production of the musical My Fair Lady , in which Tobias Licht was her partner in the role of Henry Higgins. In the 2018/19 season she played Princess Anhilte in a new production of the Kálmán operetta Die Csárdásfürstin . In January 2019 she performed the role of Stasia in a stage version of Nino Harati’s novel Das eightchte Leben (For Brilka) for the last time at the Saarbrücken Theater. At the Musiktheater Saarbrücken she performed in her last two premiere roles until almost the end of the 2018/19 season. In recognition of her artistic merits, she was awarded the honorary title “ State Actress ”.

In addition to her theater work, Gabriela Krestan also appeared in front of the camera for several film and TV productions. In the RTL series Gute Zeiten she played in 2006 in some episodes the mother of series protagonist Isabel Eggert ( Natalie Alison ) that the "series villain" Dr. Joe Gerner ( Wolfgang Bahro ) gets married. She also appeared in several Tatort films on Saarland Radio . In the crime scene: The hard-working Lieschen , the entry-level case of the new Saarbrücken investigative team Schürk and Hölzer , which was first broadcast in April 2020, Krestan played the mother of detective superintendent Adam Schürk ( Daniel Sträßer ).

Krestan also worked as a spokesperson for various broadcasters ( SR , WDR , SFB , HR , SR2 Kultur, SWR , arte ), where she a. a. Radio plays and features .

Krestan lives in Saarbrücken .
