The Geestemünde is a German passenger ship operated by Weserfähre GmbH, Bremerhaven . The ship has been in use for harbor tours in Bremerhaven since April 2011.

history

The ship was on 23 January 1975 with the hull number 1430 in Husum shipyard to put Kiel and ran on 2 May 1975, the name of Eagle III from the stack . The ship was 27.50 m long and 6.20 m wide and had a 1.55 m draft . It was measured at 132 GRT . A 12-cylinder diesel engine from KHD with 294 kW (400 hp) gave it a speed of 10 knots .

The Adler was delivered to the Adler shipping company on May 10, 1975 and was used for shopping and excursions in the North Frisian Wadden Sea until 1980 . From April 1980 to December 1981 she was chartered to the Potratz shipping company in Eckernförde , which she used for shopping trips from Eckernförde. From May 1983 to June 1984 she was used as a canal ferry on the Kiel Canal between Kiel-Holtenau and Kiel-Wik .

In April 1990 the ship was extended to 30.5 m at the Julius Diedrich shipyard in Oldersum ; it was now measured with 156 GRT and approved for up to 254 passengers .

In October 2000, the Adler III was chartered to the Kipp shipping company in Breege and used for trips on the Schaproder Bodden a . a. deployed to the island of Hiddensee . In April she was chartered to the Nordische Seetouristik GmbH, which renamed the ship in Nordertor , after the city ​​gate of the same name , and used it for excursions between Flensburg and Glücksburg . In April 2007 the name was changed again to Adler III . In September 2010 the Adler-Reederei was sold to Weserfähre GmbH in Bremerhaven, which carries out harbor tours in Bremerhaven with the ship , which was renamed Geestemünde in 2011 .
