Geffen Prize
The Geffen Prize is an Israeli literary prize that has been awarded since 1999 for works in the fields of science fiction and fantasy. The award is sponsored by the Israel Science Fiction and Fantasy Society ( Hebrew האגודה הישראלית למדע בדיוני ולפנטסיה) awarded annually. The participants of the ICon - the national Israeli SF convention - vote on the winners. The award is named after the author and translator Amos Geffen (1937–1998), a pioneer of Israeli science fiction. Prizes are awarded for works published in Hebrew in the previous Jewish year in the following categories:
- Best novel (original edition; since 2003)
- Best story (original edition; since 2002)
- Best translated science fiction novel
- Best translated fantasy novel
- Best translated book for children and young people (since 2008)
