Georg Franz Diedrich Ubaldus von Borries (born March 19, 1811 on Gut Steinlacke , Kirchlengern , † April 18, 1870 in Berlin ) was a German manor owner, government official and member of parliament.

From 1838 to 1870 Georg von Borries was district administrator of the Prussian district of Herford in Westphalia .

Life

Georg von Borries was the son of Mr and Mrs Philip Carl Ludwig von Borries and Luise Helene Gertrud Elisabeth von Bulow - originally from Minden derived noble family belonging and Reichsadel - born. He was Fideikommiss master at Gut Steinlacke and master at Ulenburg , Beck, Schockemühle and Südbrack. In 1830 Georg von Borries passed his maturity certificate at the grammar school in Minden and then studied law and cameralia in Heidelberg and Berlin . In Heidelberg he joined the Corps Guestphalia in 1831 . From 1833 to 1834 he was a volunteer soldier in the Guard Rifle Battalion in Berlin. Von Borries passed the auscultator, court and government traineeship exams and was employed by various government agencies and courts from 1834 to 1838, most recently with the district government in Minden. After the death of his father Philipp von Borries , he was entrusted with the administration of the district office in Herford on July 19, 1838 and appointed district administrator on November 8, 1838. He held this office until his death in 1870, when he was succeeded by his sons Rudolf von Borries and later Georg von Borries .

Georg von Borries was a Protestant and had married Bertha Henriette Belhagen on July 29, 1842 in Bielefeld.

MP

Georg von Borries was a member of the Berlin National Assembly for the Herford district and from 1851 to 1868 a member of the Provincial Parliament of the Province of Westphalia . In 1841 he was a secular deputy of the Herford District Synod at the Provincial Synod of the Evangelical Church of Westphalia. From 1849 to 1850 it belonged to the Second Chamber of the Prussian Landtag and from 1855 to 1856 of the Prussian manor house .

Other offices and awards

Georg von Borries held numerous other offices, including director of the agricultural provincial association for Westphalia and Lippe, member of the state economics college and member of the district commission for property tax assessment .

Georg von Borries was a bearer of the Red Eagle Order III. Class with the ribbon (?), Knight of Honor of the Order of St. John and bearer of the Royal House Order of Hohenzollern III. Class .
