Ernst Albrecht (politician, July 24, 1914)

Ernst Albrecht (born July 24, 1914 in Vlotho ; † April 14, 1977 in Voiron ) was a German politician ( SPD ).

Life and work

After attending primary school , he first completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter . From 1947 to 1977 he worked as a clerk at the Vlotho District Court . Albrecht had been a member of the SPD since 1945.

He was married and had two children.

He was a member of the Herford District Council from April 8, 1961 to April 14, 1977.

Albrecht was a member of the city council of Vlotho from 1956 to 1968.

From April 7, 1973 to April 14, 1977 he was a member of the landscape assembly of the regional association Westphalia-Lippe .

Public offices

From October 6, 1962 until his death on April 14, 1977 he was suspended district administrator of the Herford district.

He was also mayor of Vlotho from 1961 to 1968 .

Others

On September 3, 1974, Albrecht was awarded the Federal Cross of Merit on ribbon. He also received the German Fire Brigade Cross of Honor .

In Herford and Vlotho the Ernst-Albrecht-Strasse were named after him. He played a decisive role in the partnership between the Herford district and the French city of Voiron , which was formally sealed in 1965 . He died while visiting Voiron. A memorial stone on the town hall in Voiron commemorates him.
