Georg Freiherr von Tschammer und Quaritz (born December 26, 1869 in Brunzelwaldau , Lower Silesia , † October 1918 ) was a German politician and State Secretary in the Ministry for Alsace-Lorraine of the German Empire .

Studies and professional career

Georg Freiherr von Tschammer and Quaritz was a son of the entails owner and royal chamberlain Arthur Freiherr von Tschammer and Quaritz auf Quaritz . He attended the monastery school in Roßleben and completed his studies in law and camera studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität zu Bonn and at the University of Breslau . In Bonn he joined the Corps Borussia .

From 1900 to 1906 he was the successor of Johann von Dallwitz district administrator of the district of Lüben .

On October 14, 1911 he became President of Wroclaw . He held this office until his replacement by Traugott von Jagow on June 1, 1916.

Promotion to State Secretary for Alsace-Lorraine

On June 1, 1916, he succeeded Siegfried von Roedern as State Secretary in the Ministry for Alsace-Lorraine in Strasbourg . There he met again Johann von Dallwitz, who had been imperial governor in the realm of Alsace-Lorraine since 1914 . His successor as State Secretary was Karl Hauss in October 1918 .
