German TV was a German-language television program for Germans living in the USA and Canada between 2002 and 2005.

It was broadcast all day (24 hours) as a joint program by ARD , ZDF and Deutsche Welle . ARD and ZDF each contributed 40%, Deutsche Welle 20% to the program. The editing and management of German TV were located in the Deutsche Welle TV house in Berlin .

German TV broadcast news and information as well as sports, children's programs, shows and other entertainment programs as well as various films from different areas.

The German TV program went on air on April 8, 2002. In addition to the USA, it could also be received in encrypted form in large parts of Canada and Latin America via satellite or cable , so that you had to take out a subscription to see it.

Due to a low number of subscribers, operations were stopped on December 31, 2005. As an alternative, the TV program of Deutsche Welle ( DW-TV ) has been broadcast on the same station since January 1, 2006 .
