Gertrud-Elisabeth Zillmer

Gertrud-Elisabeth Zillmer (March 22, 1927 - February 7, 2020 ) was a German actress and director .

Life

Gertrud-Elisabeth Zillmer (as a film actress also Gerti Zillmer) received acting lessons from Lilly Ackermann from 1942 to 1944 . In the following period she had engagements in Eisenach , Frankfurt am Main , Weimar and Potsdam . From 1953 to 1955 she sat in on the Berliner Ensemble with Bertolt Brecht and Benno Besson , and then directed at various theaters herself.

Since 1965 Gertrud-Elisabeth Zillmer was a member of the teaching staff of the State Drama School in Berlin . She was appointed professor in 1984 and after her retirement continued to teach at the Ernst Busch Academy of Dramatic Art in Berlin . Their strict, precise way of working is the subject of the documentary Die Spielwütigen by Andres Veiel from 2004, which observed four acting students during their training for over seven years.

After a serious illness, Gertrud-Elisabet Zillmer died on February 7, 2020 at the age of 92.
