Gisela Deege

Gisela Deege (born November 24, 1928 in Berlin , †  August 15, 1997 in Settimelli-Lazare in southern France ) was a German ballet dancer .

Life

Gisela Deege attended a Berlin ballet school from the age of eight and was accepted into the training class of Tatjana Gsovsky 's school at the age of 11 . She also received lessons from Sabine Ress and Lubov Egorova in Paris. Her first major role was Juliet in the premiere of the Romeo and Juliet ballet The Lovers of Verona on November 8, 1942, with music by Leo Spies and the libretto and choreography by Tatjana Gsovsky at the Leipzig Opera House . From 1946 to 1950 she worked as a solo dancer at the Berlin State Opera , but also made a detour to the light muse through several appearances in the Revue Theater Friedrichstadt-Palast . In the 1950/1951 season she was engaged as a solo dancer at the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, where she danced under the direction of Hans von Kusserow with colleagues such as Marcel Luipart or Erich Walter as partners. In 1951 she went on tour through Germany as Margarete with Werner Egk's Abraxas Ballet, choreographed by Helge Peters-Pawlinin . In 1952 and 1953 she worked as a solo dancer alongside the prima ballerina Natascha Trofimowa at the State Opera in Hamburg . From the 1953/1954 season until 1964 she was one of several first solo dancers at the Städtische / Deutsche Oper in Berlin. During this time she completed numerous tours under Tatjana Gsovsky with the Berlin Ballet , founded in 1955, a . a. Three months through the USA with about 80 appearances in 38 states.

In addition to her appearances in dance theater, Gisela Deege was also active in film, where she mainly took on roles as a dancer.
