Glenn Richard Rupertus (born July 26, 1964 in Wetaskiwin ) is a former Canadian biathlete . He participated in three Winter Olympics and nine Biathlon World Championships .
Glenn Rupertus started for the Camrose Ski Club . Since 1985 he has participated in international races. At the 1985 biathlon world championships in Ruhpolding , he was 72nd in the sprint. A year later at Holmenkollen in Oslo , the Canadian came in 67th in the singles, 40th in the sprint and with Eric Rauhanen , Charles Plamondon and Paget Stewart 17 in the relay. In 1987 in Lake Placid a 59th place in the individual and 43rd place in the sprint were added. In 1988 Rupertus took part in his first Olympic Games. He was part of the team that took part in Olympic biathlon competitions for the first time in 20 years. In his native Calgary he finished 34th in individual and sprint and with Plamondon, Ken Karpoff and Jamie Kallio 15th in the relay race. At the 1989 World Cup in Feistritz an der Drau , they were 35th in the individual and 30th in the sprint. In 1990 Rupertus was 51st in the individual in Minsk , the other races, which were held in Oslo and Kontiolahti due to the weather , the Canadian did not contest. Also in 1991 in Lahti he contested only one race with the sprint and was 54 in this. At his second Olympic Games in 1992 in Albertville , he was used again in all three races and was 20th in the individual, 52nd in the sprint and with Jean Paquet , Tony Fiala and Steve Cyr Season Tenth. The 1993 World Championships in Borovets ended Rupertus on a 26th place in the individual and a 32nd place in the sprint. With the relay in the Olympic line-up he was 17th. 1994 followed in Lillehammer, participation in his third Olympic Games, in which he was 49th of the individual and 62nd of the sprint. After that the international missions became less. At the 1997 World Championships in Osrblie he reached 83rd place in the individual, 52nd in the sprint and with Cyr, Paquet and Eric Jensen 21st in the relay race. In 1990 he finished 73rd in the sprint at his last World Cup in Kontiolahti.
Also in the Biathlon World Cup started Rupertus in the period between 1985 and 1999. Several times he was able to walk into the points. The best result was a sixth place in an individual in Oberhof in 1993 . In 1993 he became the first Canadian biathlete of the year , for which he was elected a second time in 1998. Only Robin Clegg was able to win more often with three titles.
