The Gmina Białobrzegi [ bʲawɔˈbʒɛɟi ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in Poland in the powiat Białobrzeski of the Masovian Voivodeship . The seat of the Powiat and the municipality is the city of the same name with about 6950 inhabitants.
geography
Warsaw is about 50 kilometers north, the city of Radom 25 kilometers south. Neighboring municipalities are: Promna in the north, Warka in the northeast, Stromiec in the east, Stara Błotnica in the south, Radzanów in the southwest and Wyśmierzyce in the northwest.
The Pilica touches the north of the municipality, where it partly forms the border. Its tributary Pierzchnianka runs through the west of the municipality.
history
The rural community was re-established in 1973. Urban and rural communities were merged to form urban and rural communities in 1990/1991. Their area belonged to the Kielce Voivodeship from 1945 to 1975 and then to the Radom Voivodeship until 1998 , the powiat was dissolved during this time. The powiat was formed in 1956 and Białobrzegi was elevated to the status of town two years later.
On January 1, 1999, the community came to the Masovian Voivodeship and its main town again became the seat of the Powiat.

traffic
The main town and municipality are on the S7 ( E 77 ) expressway, which runs from Krakow via Warsaw to Gdansk . It is crossed by the national road DK48 , which runs from Tomaszów Mazowiecki via Białobrzegi to Kozienice .
The nearest international airport is Warsaw .
