The Gmina Mucharz is a rural community in the powiat Wadowicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name with 830 inhabitants (2006).

geography

The municipality is located at the foot of the Little Beskids ( Polish Beskid Mały). The Skawa (look) belongs to the waters .

Neighboring municipalities are Stryszów in the east, Wadowice and Zembrzyce .

history

When Poland was first partitioned in 1772, the area became part of the Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804). After the end of the First World War it came back to Poland. During the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II , the region belonged to the district of Bielitz in the administrative district of Katowice .

From 1975 to 1998 the rural community belonged to the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
