The Gmina Spytkowice is a rural municipality in the powiat Wadowicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the village of the same name with around 3900 inhabitants.

The most important body of water is the Vistula , on the right bank of which is its main town. Neighboring municipalities are Alwernia , Brzeźnica , Czernichów , Tomice and Zator .

history

From 1975 to 1998 the municipality belonged to the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .

The following six districts with a Schulzenamt belong to the rural community (gmina wiejska) Spytkowice :

Bachowice , Ryczów , Spytkowice , Miejsce , Lipowa and Półwieś .

traffic

The state road DK 44 , which connects Gliwice (Gleiwitz) via Oświęcim (Auschwitz) with Krakow , runs through the municipality and its main town .

Attractions

  • Castle in Spytkowice, from the first half of the 16th century, expanded in the 17th century
  • Church in Spytkowice, begun in 1633, expanded in the 17th and 18th centuries
  • Manor house in Ryczów from 1863, with its park from the 19th century
