The Gmina Orneta [ ɔrˈnɛta ] is a town-and-country municipality in the Lidzbarski powiat of the Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship in Poland . Its seat is the city of the same name ( German Wormditt ) with about 8900 inhabitants.
Partnerships
In 2001 a partnership agreement was signed with the Thuringian city of Bleicherode in the southern Harz region. A partnership with the Herzlake community has existed since 2006 .

Personalities
Theodor Joseph Blell (1827–1902), member of the Reichstag (center), grew up in Tüngen and lived from 1855 to 1882 on the Tüngen manor.
