The Gmina Torzym [ ˈtɔʒɨm ] is an urban-and-rural municipality in the powiat Sulęciński of the Lubusz Voivodeship in Poland . It is the seat of the city of the same name ( German Sternberg in der Neumark ) with about 2500 inhabitants.
geography
The community covers an area of 375 km² with about 6800 inhabitants and is located in the Neumark , 25 km east of Frankfurt (Oder) . One of the waters is the Ilanka (Eilang) tributary , which flows through the Jezioro Torzymskie (Eilangsee) .
history
In 1994 Torzym received the 1945 but knew back city rights . The rural community of Torzym (until 1949 Toruń Lubuski ) existed 1945–1954 and 1973–1994.

Other places are the settlements of Jelenie Pole, Rojek and Rożnówka and the forest house Góry.
