Gorou Béri (Niamey)

Gorou Béri is a hamlet in the Niamey II arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The hamlet is located on the northern edge of the rural municipality of Niamey. The neighboring settlement to the west is the hamlet of Tondo Bon . The large dry valley Kori de Ouallam runs near Gorou Béri . The word gorou comes from the Zarma language and means "dry valley". The corresponding word in the Hausa language is kori . The Zarma word béri means “big”. The place name Gorou Béri can therefore be translated as "great dry valley".

At the 2012 census, Gorou Béri had 182 inhabitants who lived in 27 households.

There is a primary school and a sales point for agricultural inputs in the hamlet. In 2017, the Center de Santé Intégré (CSI) de Gorou Béri opened a health center.
