Gorou Kaina (Niamey)

Gorou Kaina (also: Gourou Kaina ) is a hamlet in the Niamey II arrondissement of the city of Niamey in Niger .

The hamlet is located in the rural municipality of Niamey. A neighboring settlement is the village of Gorou Keyna . At Gorou Kaina there is a dry valley with nurseries. The word gorou comes from the Zarma language and means "dry valley". The Zarma word kaina means “small”. The place name Gorou Kaina can therefore be translated as "small dry valley".

The hamlet belonged to Niamey III until the beginning of the 21st century when it switched to Niamey II.

At the 2012 census, Gorou Kaina had 546 residents who lived in 83 households. At the 2001 census, the population was 869 in 134 households.
